When You Are Old|当你老了

When you are old and gray and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire,take down this book,
And slowly read,and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once,and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur,a little sadly,how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead,
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

This photo was shot in Cuddalore, India, on December 28, 2004, two days after a devastating tsunami struck South Asia. More than 170,000 people died, but this photo tells just one victim's story. In it, a woman has discovered the body of a dead relative. Notice her handprints in the sand and how she seems to plead for an explanation. “In a good picture you can hear the roar of nature and the silence of grief,” said World Press Photo judge Diego Goldberg.“[The photographer]…chose a very simple composition… It shows you can express huge events by showing the detail.”What detail do you notice in the photo?
