Contestants at the World Kissing Competition kiss underwater in northeastern Italy on Sunday. Categories range from basketball kissing to underwater kissing. Underwater kissing is now the most popular event. More than 30 couples kissed underwater for as long as possible on Sunday. An American couple took the top prize. They smooched below the surface for one minute and 10 seconds. The contestants were not the only ones who enjoyed the contest. About 3,000 spectators whistled and cheered.
