Director Christopher Nolan returns to Gotham City with this sequel to The Batman Begins. Christian Bale once again stars as the man behind the mask in The Dark Knight. With the help of Lieutenant2 Jim Gordon(Gary Oldman), Batman has been successfully combating local crime until the Joker(Heath Ledger) appears, unleashing chaos throughout Gotham city. To stop this threat—Batman’s greatest enemy—he will have to use every high-tech weapon in his arsenal3 and confront everything he believes. Edison Chen will make a small appearance in the film as a villain4.

Before and Behind the Movie
When Batman Begins ended, Gordon warned Batman that his presence was making Gotham more dangerous because it was drawing criminals to the city. “This situation has now meant that he feels more of a duty to continue,” Bale told the New York Times.
Bale added, “And now you have not just a young man in pain attempting to find an answer, you have somebody who actually has power, who is burdened by that power, and is having to recognize the difference between attaining that power and holding on to it.”
“As we looked through the comics, there was this fascinating5 idea that Batman’s presence in Gotham actually attracts criminals to Gotham.” Nolan recalled. “When you’re dealing with ideas like people taking the law into their own hands, you have to really ask, where does that lead? That’s what makes the character so dark, because he expresses a vengeful6 desire.”
Ledger had completed work on the Bat-sequel before he died, and that Nolan feels a “massive sense of responsibility” to do justice to Ledger’s final lead performance. The director calls Ledger’s portrayal7 of the Joker “terrifying” and “amazing.”

Batman
When Batman was a boy, Bruce Wayne witnessed his parents being murdered and he vowed to cleanse the world of evil when he grew up. As a young adult, he traveled the world to learn martial arts8, science, boxing, criminology9 and detective skills from the masters and experts of these fields. In Gotham City, at night, he is the Batman. Relying on his physical prowess10 and mental acumen11, he brings his enemies to justice. During the day, he is CEO of Wayne Enterprises, a millionaire playboy. Batman is Gotham City’s “Dark Knight” and will do everything in his power to restore order to the city and protect its citizens.
The Joker
We do not learn much about the Joker’s background except that he once operated as an assassin12. The Joker first encountered Batman during a robbery at a factory. The Joker escaped by leaping into a vat of chemical waste which disfigured13 him for life. The Joker’s methods are simple: gain pleasure in breaking every law and moral stature known to man. Joker views every crime, infliction of pain, and murder as the wonderful joke—mocking Batman.
Harvey Dent
Once Gotham City’s District Attorney, Harvey Dent was known to be an upstanding guardian of law and order. In a fight between Dent and mobs14, an explosion destroyed the left side of Dent’s body.
The explosion splits Harvey into two; he becomes Two Face. When his healthy side is in charge, Harvey is in command. When his “bad” side is in charge, however, Two Face becomes uncontrollable, living in a world of chaos, without the order and justice he once believed in.
Alfred
Butler15 to the Wayne family, Alfred has known Bruce Wayne most of his life. In addition to his duties as Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred looks after the highly technical toys and keeps them in perfect working order.
Jim Gordon
Gordon is an honored police officer. Even though Gordon does not know the identity of the man under the mask, Batman and Jim Gordon share a special friendship.
蝙蝠侠

哈维·丹特
作为高潭市前检察官， 哈维·丹特以忠实捍卫法律法规闻名。在丹特与歹徒的一次搏斗中，一场爆炸毁坏了丹特的左半边身体。
这场事故使哈维产生了双重人格，他成了双面人。当正常的一面占上风时，哈维能自我克制；但是当邪恶的一面占了上风，双面人就会为所欲为地生活在一个混乱的世界里，全无他曾相信的秩序和公正。
阿尔弗雷德

吉姆·戈登

We can do anything—the bigger and more creative, the better. Here are a few creative examples:
Get your friends together and spell out Harvey Dent in human letters.
Get a video of your school cheerleading team yelling out chants17 for Harvey Dent.
Try to cover every square inch of someone bedroom area with Harvey Dent posters.
Write and perform a Take Back Gotham song.
Make up a Dent Dance routine.
See if you can get up a Harvey Dent sign in every single window of your dorm building.
Make a human pyramid18 with other Harvey Dent supporters.
☆OK... Let’s see it one by one... first to go would be Batman as he has no special powers of his own... Next, Spiderman, probably, as he can’t take much beating from Superman... That leaves us with Superman. Let’s analyze it. Superman’s only weakness is Kryptonite19... So, unless they can get hold of a chunk20 of Kryptonite from somewhere, Superman is the undoubted Winner.
☆If they all fought to their death, none of them would be alive to win. Silly!
☆Spiderman. Everyone thinks he is poor no one will take him seriously. He will surprise them with....wait a minute, why am I even answering this question??? They don’t exist!
☆I think the Batman would win not because he’s my favorite but because he has the most wits among them. He’s always a few steps ahead of everybody and that’s probably his best advantage.
☆Superman, strength, speed, supernatural powers, bullets can’t kill him, how can he possibly lose? If anything goes then Batman would have the best chance, all he’d need is kryptonite and a way of getting Superman’s suit that protects him from kryptonite off. Either way Superman is most likely to win.
☆Batman! Spiderman is a young naive superhero who hasn’t undergone training or as much pain as batman had. Superman of course has a weakness and batman is the man who can exploit that witness.
