My Special Place
I’ve been to many places: France, Italy, Germany, Austria…I like them, they’re fun and beautiful, but they’re not my favorite. My special place is just my grandfather’s place. To me, grandfather’s place seems like heaven.
Grandfather’s place is on a farm. He spends most of his time with the chooks, ducks, pigs and his dog. I don’t go there very often, because his place is too far from the place I live, and my other relatives live. I only go there when it’s Chinese New Year. That’s one of my happiest times in a year.
Grandfather’s dog is called “Hua”. She is grandfather’s friend, mine too. Sometime, when my cousin and I are bored, we’d sneak into the kitchen and grab some left over food to feed Hua. She’s really happy, then shakes her tail and goes out with us and has a walk around the farm. Even just breathing the fresh cool air and knowing I’m far from the city makes me feel happy and relaxed. I stop every now and then to take a look at the other animals. Although I only visit them once a year, but they’re my old friends now.
Every time I went to Grandfather’s place. He always makes some special treats for my cousin and I. I love the treats: puddings, pies… They’re so tasty!
When we’re at grandfather’s house, we had a bonfire each night. I love the bit when the bonfire just burst out, then the colors came out: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, indigo…The beautiful colors spread out in the night sky. Every bit of it made me filled with joy.
I love grandfather’s house; I love Hua; I love the fresh cool air; I love the special treats; love the colors of the bonfire. Most of all, I love grandfather.
