　　A sharp knock at the door startled everyone in the room.
　　Everyone turned instantly to the door. They looked at George Washington, sleeping upward the room. The door knocked again but no one spoke. Walking toward the door, Margaret faced the enemy.
　　In the darkness of night, the face of a British Army captain could not be seen when the door swung open. Behind him, was a small cluster of redcoats. Without a word, the captain strode past Margaret and swept into the room, followed by four other soldiers.
　　They began to search the house at their officer’s command.
