David works in a big factory. He likes reading in bed when he’s at school. It’s bad for（对……有害）his eyes and now he’s short-sighted（近视的）. But he doesn’t want others to know about it, so he never wears a pair of glasses.
One winter morning he goes to a village（村庄）school on business（出差）. He gets off the bus at a stop in a small town. Then he has to walk there. The road to the village isn’t smooth （平坦的）. He fells down（摔倒）some times and it makes his clothes dirty. At last he gets to the village. Suddenly it begins to blow（刮风）and it gets very cold. His hat is blown off（被吹跑了）. He begins to run after it, but he can’t get it. He can’t understand （明白）why his hat runs into a house as if （好像）it has legs. And he runs into the house, too.
