Fire safety

实验学校四年级 黄河入海流

Yes, fire can be useful, and it also can be dangerous. A fire burns a lot of things
   Do you know about fire?
Fire is useful, it can be our friend. We use fire to do a lot of things. We use it to cook food. Since the Stone Age, people start to eat cooked food. Fire can give us light and heat too. Fire can also do many things. If there’s no fire, we can’t do these things at all.
But, do you know first is dangerous?
Yes, fire can be useful, and it also can be dangerous. A fire burns a lot of things. In 1666, there’s a fire in bakery in London. Four days late, the fire dies down, 85% houses in London are gone! 200 thousands of people in London become homeless.
So, we must know about fire safety.
In schools, people mustn’t smoke. In the forests, people mustn’t start campfires. At home, children mustn’t play with matches or play near fires.
But when you see a fire, what can we do?
We must know the fire exit and plan two ways out. When you see a fire, please shout: ‘Fire! Everyone Out!’ to awake anyone who’s asleep. Feel the door with the back of your hand. If it’s hot, it means there’s a fire out of the door. If it’s cool, open it slowly, then crawl out of the building. If heat and smoke come in when you open the door, close it tightly, and find another way to go outside. We mustn’t hide. If it’s all smoky, stay low and crawl to outside. Wait for your family at a meeting place outside. If there’s no way to go outside, open you window and signal for help. And you can put wet clothing, towels, or blankets at the bottom of the door to keep the smoke out.
Look! Fire safety is very important
