Tom'job
Tom needed some money for traveling. So he decided to get a job during the summer vacation. Some of his friends working in shops for a few hours a week and the others helped farmers on farms, but Tom liked neither of the jobs. he took a job painting yello lines down the middle of a straight street.
On his first day,he painted ten miles,and his boss felt very happy and said,"Keep it up and I'll give you more money if you can work better tomorrow".The next day Tom did five miles, and the boss said,"Well, five miles isn't as good as ten miles , but keep up the good work." The following day Tom painted only one miles.
Now the boss got very angry with Tom and said,"first day you painted ten miles, then you did five miles , then you did only one mile. You're not doing the work, so I have to let you go home."
As Tom walked away from the office, he said to himself,"But it is not my fault. Each day I kept geting farther away from the paint can(油漆桶)."
