Globalization in Australia

Although there are some negative effects have been taken by the globalization, it is still a positive thing of Australia most of the time.
Introduction
Globalization is an obvious trend and become the common awareness of more and more countries all over the world. As one of a huge economic entity in the world, Australia also find the importance of globalization and develop some globalism policies. Although there are some negative effects have been taken by the globalization, it is still a positive thing of Australia most of the time.

The economic globalization
In the process of economic globalization, Australia has affected by the Asian financial crisis, but still maintained a continuous and stable increasing of economy. In the beginning of the 21th century, although the global economic keep increasing in a lower speed, Australia still can keep about 3.5% of the annual growth rate, and the export growth rate was about 6%, which was expected to close to the level of the nineties.

Comparing with the huge land of Australia, the population is limited, and the GDP is relatively high in the world. However, because of the location, Australia have a huge geographical distance with some developed countries, the transportation cost is high. In addition, before 1980, because the Australian government implemented the social protection policy and take a high tariff of manufacturing industry, so the goods production only can satisfy the domestic market, and have a weakness competitive in international market.

Since 1983, the Australian government implemented a series of economic reform, and improve the development of economic globalization, the export of goods and service have a dramatically increase. The economic growth rate in 1980s was 3.4%, which was higher than 1970s《3.0%》, and 3.7% in 1990s which was higher than 1980s.

Until now, Australia rely on the international trading a lot, the total foreign exchange amount was 590.1billion AUD, which has an increasing about 5.3%, and the favorable balance of trade was 8.9billion AUD. In addition, Australia has a trading relationship with about 130 countries.

Conclusion
The globalization still has some disadvantages in Australia such as the pollution of environment, the expanding gap between the rich and the poor, the losing of jobs and so on. However, the benefits of globalization is definitely more than the disadvantages. The Australian government should keep developing of globalization, and also need to make new policies to due with those damages as the same time.
