　　My parents always tell me that in their childhood , they had never heared about a theft . It sounds like a fairy tale . Nowadays , the crime rate is on the rise .The means of commiting a crime is numerous and varied . cases of murder and robbery , not to speak of theft ,are often reported . To avoid such things , all kinds of ways are used , ranging from dead-bolt locks to accident insurances . It seems that the age of security is over .
　　Instead of friendly smiles , what you can see on people’s faces are just distant looks . Parents urge their children over and over again not to talk with strangers . Students are kept in schools where nobody can enter without a pass . When someone is in trouble , we seem to doubt whether it is true or only a trap at first . We become more cautious when we communicate with others especially with strangers .
　　Besides these , we figure out countless means to ensure safety . Thanks to our powerful brain , so many safety facilities have been invented , such as electronic alarm systems , trip wires and the rest . We can lock our bicycles , cars , doors , laptops . It seems that there is nothing we can’t lock .What’s more , machines which can analyze whether the caller is telling lies are applied to business .
　　With all these being done , do we feel safe ? No , we still lack the sense of safety which can be seen in the fear we harbor . The devices we use to keep us safe also keep our hearts locked . The result is that we separate ourselves from others . With no one to share our inner feelings , we suffer the solitude created by ourselves . Is that what we want ?
