On June 25th, 2009, the famous American singer Michael Jackson, who had been widely recognized as the King of Pop, passed away in his mansion in Los Angeles. Millions of fans worldwide are astonished at the news and 12 committed suicide to follow their idol. Jackson has been one of my favorite singers since young, I especially loved some of his hits such the Thriller. Therefore, I was really upset that a real legend like him passed away, but I felt especially sad to see other fans not treasuring their lives. Music is said to be the only universal language of mankind, it is able to raise one’s mood and when we listen to the music we love, it is easy for us to idolize the singer. However, I believe there is a limit to everything, for us secondary school students, it is alright to have an idol, but we should be conscious enough to see the boundary, and do not blindly follow the stars.
