Halle got her first big break in 1989, when she played a drug-addicted woman in Jungle Fever, starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson. In 1993, Halle got a starring role in Boomerang.
It was her riveting21 role as an illiterate22 addict who abandons23 her child in a garbage can24 in Losing Isaiah that shot Halle's star up high. She also starred in X－men and Swordfish. Unfortunately, Halle made headlines when she was charged with a hit and run49 in 2000—the judge ordered her to perform 200 hours of community50 service. For her part, Berry was unconcerned61 about the cyber62 attack. “It sounds very juvenile63 and childlike,” her representative64 told the Daily News. “It's like what we used to do as children with Magic Markers.”
It is not clear why her website was attacked. It is generally believed that some racists are not happy about Halle Berry, a black woman, winning the reward.
